This is an American insurance company which has been founded in 1912, in Boston. Liberty has 900 world wide offices at present, with 39,000 employees. It is the one which got 102 number on Fortune 500 of 2006 on the largest American operations and in 39th position on Equal Opportunity Magazines annual top 50 employers list.

This provides business units such as
1)Personal Market: Provides coverage for private automobiles, Home Automobiles, Home Owners and valuable possessions through its own sales force in USA about 370 offices and two direct response centers.
2)Commercial Markets: Which provides through five business units like risk and disability management and risk transfer services.
3)Agency Markets: It markets and distribute their products and services primarily through agents and brokers. Consists mainly of property and casuality, and speciality insurance carriers.
4)International Operations: It also carries international operations around 11 countries for personal and commerical insurances. The countries it carries are Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Thailand and Venezuela.

The resources says that Liberty Mutual has approximately $21.2 billion in annual consolidated revenue and around $78.8 billion in consolidated assets by December 31, 2005. Liberty Mutual Group operates by four strategic business units with no single unit contributing more than 30 percent of net premium written.

Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company
Employers Insurance Company of Wausau

Summary
The worst company when it comes to workers comp. You are guilty of fraud until proven innocent, and then they still believe you are fraudulant. They ignore you until you threaten and/or take them to court for a hearing. They love to ignore doctors request for treatment. They are a pathetic excuse for an insurance provider, they definately treat you as a case number & try to see if they can frustrate you to the point of hoping you will disappear. When I see their commercials on TV telling how they care and are there for you, it makes me sick to my stomach..

I never wanted to feel the tensions of my life including my insurance policy when I approach the customer care centre of an insurance company. I found a great change in the approach and dealings of Liberty Mutual insurance plan. I was associated with the company three years back and over these years, they have made it a point that the customer care is in fact caring me. I realized that all my tensions and worries were misplaced thoughts and I am courage enough to recommend Liberty Mutual for others too..
